Pequot Avenue Southport
"Card shop to the left was Carlson's. Post Office and Harris were busy spots.
At Switzer's they had a great soda fountain and
you could buy hand packed ice cream to take home. A local dentist Dr. Bonvini,
whose office was in the Hall Block, gave kids a certificate
for a free ice cream cone at Switzer's." -Arthur Jennings

At the "Narrows"

"Notice the large mound of sand along the shore to the right. A small steam engine with smoke working along the beach. The background shows Sasco Hill with familiar landmarks. This photograph was taken at the "Narrows". At one time the village gave consideration for building a bridge across the harbor at the "Narrows". Photograph is believed to have been taken by, or at the direction of, Richard Demarest Sr., who was associated with the golf course development project of O.G. Jennings."
