Fairfield Golf Course Renamed for Selectman

Fairfielders will have to learn a new name for a town landmark in a few weeks: “The Carl Dickman Par-3 Golf Course.” The town’s Board of Selectmen decided Wednesday to rename the South Pine Creek course after Dickman, a former selectman and state representative who died earlier this year. All three board members agreed it was a fitting tribute to the avid golf fan and dedicated public servant.
“He was very passionate about golf,” Selectman James Walsh said. “But not only that, for me, it’s more about Carl’s passion for the town of Fairfield. Carl was very well-liked by everyone he met, and he was always willing to do volunteer work to help any resident of this town in anything that they needed.” READ MORE: http://www.thedailyfairfield.com/news/fairfield-golf-course-renamed-selectman
