Trinity Episcopal Church and Pequot Library Team Up To Help Community at Pequot Library's 55th Annual Summer Book Sale


Southport, CT – During the busiest weekend days of Pequot Library’s 55th Annual Summer Book Sale, Trinity Episcopal Church in Southport, CT will open their parking lot to the public with, "Park for Food." Pequot’s Book Sale runs from Friday, July 24 – Tuesday, July 28, 2015. On, Saturday, July 25 and Sunday, July 26, the church asks, in exchange for parking that the drivers make a donation of canned foods or funds. The Rev. Margaret (Peggy) Hodgkins, rector of Trinity Southport, says, “In keeping with our mission of social justice ministries, all proceeds will benefit St. Luke's Bridgeport Food Pantry or other food pantries serving people in need.” Trinity Church volunteers will direct cars to available parking in the church’s parking lot over the weekend.

Pequot Library’s 55th Annual Summer Book Sale offers more than 55 categories, including over 120,000 books, plus about 10,000 CDs, many DVDs and media items, records, and more. Unique “Specials” will be offered, with a catalog of higher value and/or scarce items available online at pequotlibrary.org starting July 13, 2015.

Pequot Library’s Summer Book Sale hours and pricing for the five-day sale are: Friday, July 24, 9:00am to 7:00pm, prices are double the marked price; Saturday, July 25, 9:00am to 6:00pm, all items priced as marked; Sunday, July 26, 9:00am to 6:00pm priced as marked; Monday, July 27, 9:00am to 6:00pm, half the marked price; Tuesday, July 28, 9:00am to 2:00pm, $5 per bag day!

Over 55 categories, including your favorites: Children’s Books; Art and Photography; Business; Biography; Several sections of History: USA, European, World, and Military; Computer Books and Software; Cooking; Crafts and Style; Foreign Language; Gardening; Mystery and Thriller; Romance; Science; Sports; Science Fiction;      Current Fiction; Classic Fiction; Poetry and Drama; Trade Paperbacks; Media: CDs, DVDs, Records, Tapes, and Audiobooks; Sheet Music, Music Books, and Comic Books.

Book Sale shoppers can park at Pequot Library or in the Trinity Episcopal Church parking lot (on the corner of Pequot Avenue and Center Street). Join other members of the community in helping feed those in need. Pequot Library also asks the public to help save the environment: If possible please bring your own reusable bags!
