Southport, CT – Children in grades K-4 can come to Pequot Library on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, 11:00am - 12:00pm to build their own terrariums! Learn how to create and sustain a live terrarium with soil, moss, plants and local materials. This guided program is taught by Mary Cody, owner of Terrariums To Go. The program will take place in Pequot Library’s Auditorium. Registration is required, as there is a materials fee of $20. Nearly all science teachers wish their students' parents had more opportunities to engage in science with their children, and many parents admit they need help. Let this children’s program at Pequot Library help! The future of science education is a growing concern nationwide, with leaders making a concerted effort to move American students from the middle to the top of the pack in science achievement over the next decade. Come have fun at Pequot Library by actively participating in closing the gap.
