The Connecticut Citizens Transportation Lobby - Citizens’ Advocacy for More Than a Decade The Citizens Transportation Lobby is an organization of concerned citizens from all over the state who have come together to advocate for safer highways and increased mass transit in Connecticut. “The Citizens Transportation Lobby is a consortium of activist groups pushing for improved transit in our state,” says CTL co-Chair Jill Kelly of Fairfield. “Metro-North is crucial to our economy and if it isn’t operating safely and on-time, everyone is affected… commuters, motorists and ordinary taxpayers.” Co-Chair Carol Leighton, also of Fairfield, added: “It’s time that commuters got some straight answers about what’s going on. The CDOT pays Metro-North $73 million a year to run our trains, and this is not acceptable.”
