Southport Sunflowers Project!

Southport Sunflowers Project!

There's a stretch of empty Post Road leading up to the animal hospital that is the site of an old automobile battery manufacturing plant that cannot be built on until environmental clean up is complete. This ...spring Dr. Hart decided the gateway to Fairfield should get some tender loving care, so after many rounds got approval from the owners of the site and the town economic development council, to plant a VERY LONG row of sunflowers along the fence of this 6plus acre empty lot. Then it rained all of June (sunflowers hate that), then we had back to back heat waves (not so great either), but now the sunflowers are coming in to their own, blooming and growing and will be beautiful until frost late in the fall. She has personally tended these flowers in an effort to beautify the neighborhood around the hospital!
