New window for Southport Congregational Church

It took workers four days to carefully remove the Southport Congregational Church’s approximately 14-foot by 20-foot window in about 16 pieces, which they did at the end of July. It will probably take about three months for the restoration work to be completed. The congregation has dug deep into their pockets to come up with the cost of a restoration that is estimated to be $200,000 to $300,000, somewhat dependent on whether the wooden framework may also have to be replaced, said Donald Samick, president of J&R Lamb Studios, which will do the restoration.
