TPZ says OK to Garelick & Herbs

The Fairfield Plan & Zoning Commission found that plans to turn a blighted property into one with a new store that will sell specialty foods were plans well suited to their taste. The TPZ voted unanimously to grant a zone change from industrial to commercial, as well as to approve specific plans for the building and parking lot at 3611 Post Road (SOUTHPORT), when the commission met on July 23.
Jason and Paula Garelick, the owners of Garelick & Herbs, a store now situated just up the street in Westport, will relocate their food store to the 0.48 acre property after they buy it from the current owner, an estate, tear down the unstable shed-like buildings that are there, remove oil tanks, remediate the soil and build a new 4,250 square foot building with a parking lot for 32 cars.
“I think this is an excellent application,” Matthew Wagner said, adding, “This difficult site is the entrance to our town.” READ MORE:
