Over 400 people from all over Fairfield participated in Pequot Library's Bike Parade

pequot library’s ANNUAL JULY 4TH BIKE PARADE AND OLD-FASHIONED LAWN GAMES DRAWS MORE THAN 400 PEOPLE FROM ALL OVER TOWN

Southport, CT – Pequot Library’s Great Lawn held the jumping feet and rolling bikes of over 400 people on Thursday, July 4, 2013, from 10am – 11am. Pequot’s annual bike parade started at the Five Corners in Southport Village. Kids from all over town decorated their bikes, trikes, and wagons with festive July 4th red, white, and blue. Miniature, stick-held, American flags fluttered from tiny hands and bicycle handle bars. Traveling to Pequot Library’s Great Lawn, the tradition continued, with the community playing Revolutionary Relay, having sack races, tug of war, and a water balloon toss.  This event was free and open to the public. It was made possible through the generous sponsorship from the Emily Hall Tremaine Foundation.
