Museum board elects president and vice president

Fairfield Museum and History Center has elected two business leaders as president and vice president of its Board of Directors and has added three professionals to its growing staff.
Fairfield resident Tom Walsh, a principal and member of Brody Wilkinson PC’s executive committee, has been named board president. Walsh is currently on the board of directors of The Southport Conservancy, serves as vice chair of the American Bar Association Middle Market and Small Business Committee and is on the Executive Committee of the Business Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association. He has previously been on the boards of the Bridgeport Regional Business Council and Community Capital Fund.
“I would like to see the museum continue on its upward path and become a regionally recognized center for history and education in addition to being a center of cultural activity for Fairfield and the surrounding towns,” Walsh said.
New board vice president Tim Russell is a third-generation owner of The Russell Agency, an insurance company located in Southport. A resident of Sandy Hook, Russell received a bachelor’s degree in business administration in risk management and insurance with an agency management tract from the University of Georgia. He joined his brother, George, to run the family agency in 1994, where he concentrates mainly on commercial insurance.
“I believe the Fairfield Museum is a treasure, but a hidden one,” Russell said. “I would like to see more people in the community made aware of all the museum has to offer. I’d like to help the Museum become a destination in the town of Fairfield, just like the beach or Rawley’s, and a place where every family goes and has fond memories.” READ MORE:
