Fairfield RTM Reinstates 100% of Pequot Library's Public Funding

Dear Friends,
As a result of the outpouring of community support from all across Fairfield and beyond, the Fairfield RTM voted to reinstate 100% of Pequot Library's annual funding. Pequot Library thanks the members of the RTM, all elected officials, Mike Tetreau and the Board of Selectman, and the Board of Finance.

The public's response to the possibility of closing Pequot Library brought the entire town together. Thousands of residents voiced their opinions to RTM members; voluntarily placed 450 donated lawn signs in their yards; 2,657 people signed the "Save Pequot Library" petition; men, women, and children spoke out at RTM meetings. 350+ people of all ages and stages attended the rally, and there was standing room only at the April 22 RTM meeting. We send a heartfelt "Thank you!" to each and every person. There is a deep emotional connection between Pequot Library and the town of Fairfield. For 120 years, Pequot has provided unique facilities and services and become a cornerstone of the community.

We ask that all "Save Pequot Library" signs be returned to Pequot Library.
Signs can be left 24/7 in front of the Book Donations shed.

Many thanks to all our members & friends who have reached out to support Pequot Library - Past, Present, and Future!
