4/7/13 Southport, CT – Children bearing a large glass jar filled with $180.00 worth of coins and bills donated their earnings to help save Pequot Library. Pequot Library patron and Meet the Author committee member MaryJo Scott organized the grass roots event. Robyn Swan Filippone, Library Services and Special Collections at Pequot Library said, “I was so surprised and it brought tears to my eyes.
It was such a sweet thing for them to have done.”

All of Pequot Library’s funding from the Town of Fairfield was recently cut during budget hearings.
