Last call: The Shack restaurant shuts down

The Shack Hometown Grill shut its doors recently after almost three years at the corner of Post and North Pine Creek roads.
The 160-seat restaurant with over 40 workers closed because business was insufficient, said Tommy Febbraio, a commercial real estate broker who co-owns the property with Westport lawyer Tom Sargent.
"We'll miss The Shack. They catered to a lot of Fairfield families," said Febbraio, who himself operates several restaurants in the area and had co-owned the restaurant Sidetracks at the site with Sargent for 22 years. "Another restaurant's departure is another restaurant's opportunity."
Ten restaurant groups from New York City to Boston have shown interest in leasing the 4,400-square-foot space, which has a patio that can accommodate 20 additional seats, Febbraio said.
