Storm Sandy Updated Fairfielder Information

I’m writing to let you know prep work is underway for the storm that's forecasted to hit Fairfield as soon as Sunday night.
I have been in contact with police Chief Gary MacNamara and he shared with me that Emergency Operations Center personnel have conducted meetings and are finalizing their plans as they review incoming storm projections. They will be monitoring the storm all weekend at the Emergency Operations Center.
I want to encourage you to go to the town web site and sign up for the Code Red system to receive updates.
This is the best way for our Emergency Service Operations team to get information out to residents about conditions, evacuations and shelters.

The Chief also said that in an effort to keep calls to the dispatch center to a minimum they wanted to share that the town’s info line at 203-254-4899 will be updated periodically and may even be staffed depending on the severity of the conditions. You can also visit the town’s emergency services page for additional information and tips to stay safe.

You can also visit United Illuminating's storm page for updates.
This storm has the potential to be severe, so please plan accordingly and be safe!

If I can be helpful in anyway, please feel free to either email me at Brenda.Kupchick@cga.ct.gov
or call me at home at 203-336-1724.

Sincerely,
Rep. Brenda Kupchick

Proudly serving  the 132nd District of Fairfield & Southport
