Their recent Washington DC debut appearance for the Stradivari Anniversary Concert at the Library of Congress’s famed Coolidge Auditorium was oversold left to standing room only.
Comprised of Sami Merdinian and Sarah Whitney, violins; Angela Pickett, viola; Laura Metcalf, cello; and Louis Levitt, bass, Sybarite5 has taken audiences around the US by storm. From Radiohead to Mozart, this group of talented, diverse musicians has changed the perception of chamber music performance. From the moment that their bows hit the strings, the audience is taken on a wild ride that engages the senses and redefines the rules.

They were the first string quintet admitted to the Aspen Advanced Quartet Studies program, where they worked with Earl Carlyss of the Juilliard Quartet, bassist Edgar Meyer, as well as the Cavani, American, and Ying String Quartets. Since June 2009, SYBARITE5 has represented the Aspen Music Festival in a new capacity as the AMFS Alumni Ensemble.

Current programs include the Radiohead Remixed Project, the Shuffle Effect New Music IDOL, the Alternative Venues Initiative, and the DIDO Project. The group also holds a residency at the cell theatre in New York City.

SYBARITE5 is a non-profit arts organization based in New York City and continues to perform at the Aspen Music Festival and across the US.
