Maggie Moffitt Rahe, a native of Fairfield, has been an avid photographer since she was 12. After Maggie_Moffitt_Exhibitgraduating from Georgetown University in 1979 with a B.A. in Art History, Maggie worked as an assistant in the Registrar’s office of the National Museum of American Art of the Smithsonian Institution. Her interest in photography increased as she was exposed to the work of Alfred Steiglitz and Man Ray in the NMAA collection.
During the 1990s, Maggie was a free-lance photographer for the Darien Times and earned an award from the New England School of Journalism in 2000.
After moving back to Southport in 2001, Maggie has been a substitute teacher while continuing to photograph in New England, wildflowers in Montana, as well as cityscapes in New York. During the summer, she taught photography at HORIZONS at Greens Farms Academy, instilling her love for capturing moments on film to young people.
“Spaces and Places” will include seascapes, gardens, children, and dogs as well as some local scenes in the Fairfield/NYC area.
