With scaled-back plan, Honda cruises to approval of service center

After reducing the number of automotive service bays by one-third, Honda of Westport won Town Plan and Zoning approval to open a new service center on Linwood Avenue. The building will have 22 bays instead of 33, which had been proposed in an earlier application that the TPZ rejected. "I think this is a good application," TPZ Commissioner Matthew Wagner said. "I supported the original application for the service center back in 2011 when it was 33." Wagner said the revised proposal includes a plan to improve traffic flow at the intersection of Linwood Avenue and North Pine Creek Road. "This is a permitted us in the zone," he said. "This is a good use and the space should be utilized."
