Fairfielder gives keynote address at state's Scout Day

A Fairfield Girl Scout delivered the keynote address during the recent Girl Scout Day at the state Capitol in Hartford.
Corinne Wilklow, a member of Troop 32282 in the Southport section of town, told about 100 Scouts, state officials and Scout leaders how a Girl Scouts science and technology program has piqued her interest in those areas.
The Scouts' STEM program -- Science, Technology, Engineering and Math -- was a focal point of the day at the Capitol last month, and girls discussed those male-dominated disciplines with legislators and other officials, according to a news release from the Girl Scouts of Connecticut.
