FAIRFIELD RTM DISTRICT ONE MEMBERS TO HOST OPEN FORUM FOR TAXPAYERS

▫ Review Current Status of Property Appraisal & Tax Assessment Issues in District One ▫

▫ Opportunity for Taxpayers to Provide Views on Proposed 2012-2013 Town & Education Budgets ▫

Fairfield, CT—February 5, 2012— Taking their balanced and fiscally-responsible message directly to Fairfield and Southport taxpayers, members of the Fairfield Representative Town Meeting (RTM) for District One will host their first community meeting this term on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Trinity Episcopal Church in the “Parish Hall” from 12 noon until 2:30 pm. All District One residents are strongly encouraged to attend the meeting where they will have the opportunity to share their views and concerns directly with their local RTM Representatives.

In addition to a question and answer period with District One voters, topics to be reviewed at the forum will include: (1) Public safety initiatives underway and planned, (2) Mill River remediation and action plan for former Exide property, (3) concerns about potential hunting on Town-owned properties in District One (4) analysis of District One property appraisal and tax assessment issues and (5) preliminary conversation about the 2012-2013 proposed Town and Education budgets. This is a public meeting open to all Town of Fairfield residents.

Trinity Episcopal Church is located at 651 Pequot Avenue at the intersection of Center Street in Southport.

Members of Fairfield RTM District One include: David Becker, Majority Leader (R-1); Michael Herley, Chairman of Public Health and Safety (R-1); Gaylord Meyer, Member of Public Health and Safety; Carolyn Richmond, Secretary for Education and Recreation (R-1); and Eric Sundman, Chairman of Public Works & Planning (R-1).

District One serves residents in Southport, parts of Mill Hill, Southport Woods, Sasco Hill, Old Dam, Pine Creek, Oldfield, Veres Park, and Reef Road (West), among other neighborhoods.
