Mill River Bridge June 1889
 Southport, Connecticut
Description: Photographer: Roderick Curtis? Written on back of picture: "View of Bridge in process of building at Southport, Conn. June 1889." Written in different handwriting: "Tide Mill." An examination of the terrain indicates that this is not the bridge at the Southport tide mill but rather is the bridge on the Post Road between Fairfield and Southport. The view is from the east looking west towards Southport. The Advertiser of 15 Feb 1889 speaks of an item at the town meeting in regard to the bridge and the cutting down and grading of "the hill adjacent." Advertiser of 29 March 1889 refers to work being done on the bridge. Writing on reverse of this picture is similar to that of other pictures known to have been done by Roderick Curtis.
