Triangle Lot, Southport Center
Southport, Connecticut

Description: Copy of b/w post card. Printed on front, "Careys Corners, Southport, Conn." "Careys Corner(s)" was the term used for the 5-point intersection of Pequot Ave East, Pequot Ave West, Main St, Rose Hill Rd, and the Old Post Rd. On the left is the Meeker store built 1897; it later became the Charles James market. In 1928 it was replaced by the building seen in photo #367. The history of the "Triangle Lot" is recounted in the Southport Packet, Oct 1988, Vol 2 #4, and Jan 1989 Vol 3 #1.
