Music for Youth and Pequot Library present Benjamin Beilman, violinist.

These last few years the 20-year-old violinist Benjamin Beilman has been very busy garnering top prizes in musical competitions! In 2010 at the 2010 Young Concert Artists International Auditions he won First Prize and was granted five additional awards which include his debuts in New York, Washington and Boston. He also won First Prize in the 2010 Montreal International Competition which awarded him a $30,000 purse, plus $20,000 in career development services and a recording on the Analekta label. First Prize was his in the 2009 Schmidbauer and Corpus Christi International Competitions in Texas. Also in 2009 he won First Prize at the Astral Artists National Auditions.
As a result of his success at the Montreal Competition, Beilman has been engaged for a concert in France with Radio France, for a performance with the Edmonton Symphony, and at the Bach Montreal Festival, the I Musici de Montreal, the Festival d’Ete du Quebec and L’Orchestre Metropolitain de Montreal, plus a recording of the Prokofiev sonatas for violin and piano.
For the last three years Mr. Beilman has participated in the Marlboro Music Festival and this current season will tour with “Musicians from Marlboro.” He has also appeared at the Verbier Festival and on Ravinia’s “Rising Star” series. He has been heard on National Public Radio’s “PerformanceToday” and “From the Top.”
Mr. Beilman studies at the Curtis Institute of Music with Ida Kavafian.
