Fairfield Police to hold meeting at Trinity Church's Parish Hall Dec.20th

The "Neighborhood Watch" kickoff meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 20th at 7:00 pm in Trinity Church's "Parish Hall". Trinity Church is located at the corner of Center Street and Pequot Avenue in Southport.

Please note: The Fairfield Police Department will be stepping up patrols in the local area this evening given the fact that many residents will be attending the meeting and not at home.

The Fairfield Police Department, led by Chief Gary MacNamara, will provide an overview of the steps the Department has taken to combat crime in our immediate area, as well as the things individual residents can do to improve home safety and to make our overall community a safer place.
Lieutenant Jim Perez will outline the steps involved in getting our "virtual" community watch group up and running. Again, the group is designed to eventually cover the entire Hulls Highway/Mill Hill area, but, as previously discussed, our immediate concentration will be more focused in and around the lower Hulls Highway area moving toward Village Lane and Acorn. Thereafter, we'll start expanding outward.
We already have a good number of families on our distribution list who are outside of the immediate focus area, which is a very good thing and we're anxious to expand the program.
Thanks in advance to all who volunteered for setup/cleanup and to those who volunteered to bring snacks and beverages to our event.
Our two new Team Captains will be introduced at the meeting and will be taking over the distribution of key information and serving as our neighborhood's liaison with the Police Department going forward.
Michael Herley/Southport
RTM District 1 Representative
Fairfield
