Fairfield, CT—September 28, 2011—Taking their balanced and fiscally-responsible message directly to Fairfield and Southport voters, the Republican District One candidates for the Representative Town Meeting in Fairfield announced the launch of their district-wide campaign website: www.district1reps.com.
“More-and more voters are now turning to a variety of web-based and social media platforms for information about local candidates,” said Eric G. Sundman, the most senior member of the District One delegation. “We believe the establishment of a District One and individual candidate websites will help us to take our balanced, fiscally-responsible platform directly to District One voters. Each of our five candidates in District One will campaign hard with a positive, forward-looking message for the privilege of continuing to represent our friends and neighbors across the district.”
The District One delegation on the RTM is currently comprised of five Republican members. Four of these members are seeking re-election in November 2011, including: David Becker, Michael D. Herley, Carolyn Richmond and Eric G. Sundman. In addition, long-time Southport resident Gaylord Meyer is seeking election to the RTM as a Republican in District One.
“I am delighted to be part of the Republican slate of candidates for the Fairfield RTM in District One,” said Gaylord Meyer, a 32-year resident of Southport and small-business owner in town. “Each of our District One candidates is passionate about keeping Fairfield affordable and investing in its future. We look forward to engaging with old and new friends along the campaign trail this season.
