Pine Creek in 1900

View at what is now Pine Creek Beach in about 1900 from about where the lifeguard stand is today. At left, the house to the right is #48 Pine Creek Avenue, built in 1819 which still stands. The house and land to the right of the photo was washed away in the Hurricane of 1936, creating the beachfront today which is Pine Creek Beach.

The seagreass patch is the same patch today that grows in front of 10 Pine Creek Avenue and behind the life guard stand.

This seagrass patch had been rebuilt several years ago as part of shoreline protection efforts, though some of it has worn away.
The photo above is the same location back in 1900.
