Southport Harbor at the turn of the century

(click on image twice to supersize)
Southport Harbor at the turn of the century.
Photo: date not certain but appears to be most likely circa 1890-1900 and not later than 1905.
Moored next to one of the last of Southport's Market Fleet, the schooner on the right appears to be the "George Edwin, " a market boat owned by the Simon Banks firm. The market boats ceased operation about 1903-4. The "Mary Elizabeth" was the last one sold in 1905 and taken to Long Island. Sasco Hill in the background.
Many thanks to Arthur Jennings for sharing this rare photo.
