'Cap' Pike at the Horseshoe in the 1930's

Description: Snapshot from Russell family, owners of Horseshoe Bar. On reverse of photo: "Horseshoe Bar. Left 'Cap' Pike, lived at 534 Harbor Road. Right, Mike." Albert Sturges Pike (1865-1951) was great grandson of Molly Pike of Pike's Tavern, site 252 Main Street. Son of Samuel & Eliza (Nichols) Pike, he was born and raised at 155 Rose Hill Road. He & his sister Eliza inherited 534 Harbor Road, his mother's family homestead (she was daughter of Sturges Nichols for whom Nic St/Rose Hill Rd was named). Cap Pike was a regular patron of the Horseshoe Bar.
