Pine Creek Beach circa 1920

Very rare linen postcard from 1920, Pine Creek Beach. Notice the beach is much different than today. The shoreline seen here had been redesigned by the Army Corps Of Engineers decades later when they built up the shore. The chain link fence in the background does not exist today, but the cement foundation does. This scene is in front of the three recently built homes.
Rowboats, canoes, and sail canoes could be rented every summer from this location at the legendary Surfside.
